What Are Drugs?

What I am about to say would be considered highly unethical, some may agree while others would argue. Don’t accept it, what can I do? I can’t do a thing, after all it’s my own opinion, my own claim but yet after listening to me even some part of your brain would agree that I am right. You may resist the thought. Do whatever you want to, my point is just listen to me carefully.
Drug. Everybody has his own drug. A substance, a feeling, an action, a phrase, an event, anything that compels the user to work and carry out his required tasks. People around me, or practically everyone, is a drug addict. Some smoke cigarettes, weed, or pot while some just drink soft drinks to fizz them up. The point is that we all need something, some necessary action without which we are incomplete. Some of us want to watch television, some may want to play, some like to sleep while others just lay around reading books, mumbling and doing weird stuff. All this provides us energy and motivate us to do the jobs we are required to do. People who take up harmful/toxic substances are considered strange, dumb as they may have neglected the effects they would suffer. But is it true? I mean every one of us is forced to use something, do some job or conduct an activity that helps us in working. So aren’t we similar to drug addicts? The only thing different is that they practically use compounds, which have a scientific reasoning behind them, to help themselves work.
Me? My own drug is like variable. Sometimes I use water to help me remain awake, other times, I would watch T.V. shows to prevent boredom and laziness, while in some rare cases a little leg work would help me stay focused. The point is drug isn’t limited to packets of chemical compounds we eat that calms us and destroy us in the long run, it's beyond that, the word itself is an explanation to many other sensations that are not scientifically proved. Even there is a movie named ‘Love and Other Drugs’.
In conclusion, all of us know that there is something, a pressure point of ours that pulls us back or without which we wouldn’t work. Yet, we never accept it, because we fear. We fear everyone would be shocked or would humiliate us.
By the way, watch the show Limitless, and you would have a quite different perception of drugs.
